SENIOR CONSULTANT

G.I.IKE, FCA, FCTI, ACMA – SENIOR CONSULTANT

Mr G. I. IKE is the Senior Consultant of J. O. Adidi & Co (Chartered Accountants). He was educated at the University of Lagos where he graduated with a B.Sc (Hons) Degree in Accounting in 1973. He was designated a state scholar during his under graduate days. Later joined the Office of the Auditor General for the Federation in 1973 but was later sponsored by the Federal Government for an in-service scholarship for professional training in Accountancy at South West London College Garratt Lane London.

During his tenure at the Auditor General’s office Mr. IKE led Federal Government audit teams to audit Federal Government agencies, parastatals and International Bodies like the ACP (African Carribean and Pacific Countries economic group in Brussels Belgium in 1985.

Mr. IKE later transferred services to NNPC (Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in 1986 and was deployed to the key accounting function in the Joint Venture Division (Later renamed NAPIMS). His main assignment was the preparation, monitoring and implementation of Annual Work Programmes and Budget of all Joint Venture Oil and Gas Companies; and payment of Cash Calls.

 

Mr. IKE was again sponsored by NNPC for the Advanced Oil and Gas Accounting, Finance and Management course at the University of Texas in Dallas USA in 1988. He also attended the World Bank Sponsored course in Advanced Oil and Gas Accounting Auditing and Financial Management at PTI Warri - a course which was administered by Peat – Marwick and Co. - Chartered Accountants. He emerged a prize winner.

Mr. IKE played a pivotal role in the drafting of Joint Operating Agreements, PSC’s  and MOU’s (Memorandum of Understanding) currently in use in the Oil and Gas industry. As the  Head of Accounting and Finance Division of NAPIMS – NNPC he impacted forcefully on the operations of the Upstream Oil and Gas industry  and helped to train many executives manning the joint venture oil companies today. He was NNPC’s counterpart staff at the first ever Value for Money Audit of Upstream Joint Venture Companies 1991 – 1996.

He was NNPC’s lead project Finance Officer on the famous NNPC MOBIL OSO condensate project OMLS,64,65,66 and 67. due to exceptional dexterity he and his team were able to conclude that project at $1.8 Billion instead of the $2.5 Billion projected by the world bank. This feat earned MR. Ike a written commendation by the Group Managing Director of NNPC, for Distinguished Service.  

MR IKE is much sought after by both the oil companies and banks for contribution at seminars and in investment assessment of projects. He has been a Senior Consultant with the Firm of J. O. Adidi and Co (Chartered Accountants since 2003 and has participated in audit, tax and financial consultancy services for the firm ever since. Mr. Ike has also participated as a lead resource person in training courses in oil and gas Financing, auditing and taxes organized by J.O. Adidi & Co for the following organization:
